Out of respect for a recent loss in the community, the launch of Being Ts’elxweyeqw” – First Peoples’ Voices and history from the Chilliwack- Fraser Valley, British Columbia scheduled for the evening of January 26, at the Sto:lo Resource Centre, has been postponed. The books will be available for sale at the Sto:lo gift shop as of Saturday, January 27.
We look forward to hosting this event in the near future and will share the new date as soon as possible.

Over the next few months, Community Liaisons will be visiting homes to deliver information on the project and collect contact information. In February and March, Community discussions will be held where members can stop in and chat with Chief David Jimmie about the project. In April, two Community Meetings will be held so members can hear the latest information about the agreement prior to the vote.
This is an important decision for our community, please come out to as many of these meetings as you can so you are able to make an informed decision.

Please join WindRiver Power Corporation at their Open House regarding their Development Plan for the Tamihi Creek the Run-of-River Hydroelectric Project Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 5-8 at the Tzeachten Community Centre (45855 Promontory Road).
Windriver has been engaging with the Ts’elxwéyeqw Tribe and Ts’elxwéyeqw Tribe communities for over 7 years. They have completed a number of environmental assessments including fish and wildlife assessments and a Cultural Heritage Overview Assessment. This Open House will provide an opportunity to ask questions directly and learn more about this project.
We will have an information booth at the Stó:lō Nation Gathering this Saturday, July 26th at the Coqualeetza Grounds. A lot of interesting things will be happening at this event: view the flyer below for more information.
